The challenge

Croatia's tradespeople and micro-businesses juggle manual invoice numbering, shifting VAT rules and half a dozen tools just to send one invoice  and still lose track of who has actually paid.

A generic template — a Word document, a spreadsheet — doesn't track VAT rule changes or enforce sequential numbering by itself. The compliance risk doesn't go away, it just becomes one more thing the business owner has to remember correctly, every single time.

02

The approach

01

Issue

A guided form asks for only what an invoice truly needs — your logo, the client, the line items — and a compliant PDF is ready in a couple of minutes.

02

Comply

Sequential numbering and the correct VAT notes (or exemption clause) are applied automatically, matched to Croatian tax rules and your business status.

03

Track

One dashboard shows paid versus outstanding in real time, so you always know exactly who still owes you and how much.

04

Collect

Recurring invoices, reminders and CSV export close the loop — from issuing the invoice to actually getting paid, without leaving the app.

03

Tech decisions

01PostgreSQL

Invoice numbering has to be sequential and gapless for Croatian tax compliance — a relational database with real transactions guarantees that in a way a document store can't reliably enforce.

02TypeScript

VAT rules and invoice line-item math are exactly the kind of logic where a silent type error becomes a real compliance mistake on someone's actual tax filing — the strictness is worth it here.

03Next.js

Dashboard and PDF invoice generation live in one deployable app — checking who's paid needs to feel instant, not like waiting on a separate reporting tool to catch up.

What it delivers

2 min

From blank to a sent invoice

What used to mean opening a spreadsheet and copying last month's format now takes one guided form.

0

Numbering & VAT mistakes

Nobody has to remember the current sequential number or which VAT note applies — the system already knows.

Bilingual, Croatian tax-ready

Works the same whether the business owner thinks in Croatian or English.

1

Issue, track & collect in one place

No more switching between an invoicing tool, a spreadsheet and email just to see who still owes money.
